2023 BMW X1 goes into production: better engine horsepower, coming to our market next year?

Must read

The Motor BMW 2023 New Model X1 goes into production! The car is built on the UKL2 platform and has even better overall dimensions and so on than its predecessor! The new engine has also received a huge boost in power and is expected to be introduced to the Chinese market in 2023, with CKD in the process!

The new X1 has a more aggressive and youthful design as it is aimed at the youth market. The water tank shroud has become very large, in line with BMW’s long-standing design, and the headlights have been designed in favour of the 3 Series and 7 Series, etc. The original angel-eye design no longer exists, but it is still a good design.

At the rear, not only are the tail lamps with 3D LEDs, but also the lampshades are designed in 3D, so that the new rear end is very chic and at first glance does not look like the old BMW design. In terms of dimensions, the car measures 4,400 mm X 1,844 mm X 1,640 mm and has a wheelbase of 2,692 mm, which is in the C-Segment class.

The interior of the car is also more technical, with the i4’s twin screens, the digital instrumentation measuring 10.25 inches and the central touchscreen 10.7 inches. The design of the centre armrest is also very good.

The design near the centre armrest is a blend of the iX design, with a double-layered centre armrest and gearshift knob, which not only allows for better storage space, but also a better sense of technology, again in line with the car’s need to be young.

The engine is currently available in only one configuration for the North American market, a 2.0L turbocharged engine, which the original manufacturer says has been optimised for intake combustion and includes a dual injection system (direct injection and multi-point injection), resulting in better fuel consumption and emissions performance. The engine has a maximum horsepower of 241 Hp and a peak torque of 400 Nm, and is equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and, according to official figures, accelerates from 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) in 6.2 seconds.

In addition, a 1.5L three-cylinder turbocharged engine, a plug-in hybrid engine, an electric version and a more powerful M35 version will be added in the future, and in the local market we should see the car in 2023! When will it be CKD? Only the original manufacturer will know!
